Frequently Asked Questions
What should I expect in an Assessment?
This is your first visit. We will ask you questions about your injury or area of discomfort and talk about any relevant history such as past injuries, current or past medical conditions, as well as daily activities in order to determine what might be contributing to your problem. We will then do a series of physical tests to assess your movements.
Taking your history and physical assessment together, we will try to determine the cause of your pain or dysfunction as well as what treatment plan would most effectively help you.
Lastly, we will go over our findings with you as well as go over a treatment plan.
What should I bring?
BC Care Card
ICBC or WorkSafe clients - claim number, Doctor referral letter, adjuster's name
If advised by your therapist after the initial assessment, men should bring shorts, women should bring shorts and sports bra
Is a Doctor's referral needed?
No, a doctor’s referral is not needed to see a physiotherapist unless you are a WorkSafe or ICBC client. Some private insurance companies require a doctor’s referral before providing physiotherapy coverage so you are encouraged to find out what your plan covers.
How many visits will I require?
This depends on the type of injury, severity of your condition and how your body responds to the treatment. Your therapist will let you know in your assessment how long your treatment may need to be. Sticking to exercise prescriptions will increase your ability to meet your rehabilitation goals.
What is the cancellation policy?
Your appointment time is reserved just for you. A late cancellation or missed visit leaves a hole in the therapists' day that could have been filled by another patient. As such, we require 24hr notice for any cancellations or changes to your appointment.
Patients who provide less than 24hr notice, or miss their appointment, will be charged a cancellation fee of 50% of their physiotherapy or 75% of their massage therapy rate.
What coverage is available?
We accept MSP, ICBC, Worksafe, and private insurance. Private insurance coverage may vary depending on the treatment.
