PHYSIOTHERAPY

Physiotherapy is a drug free and non invasive method of

  • assessing

  • diagnosing

  • restoring and

  • maintaining a desired level of physical function

Conditions treated will vary from person to person. Many times there is pain but sometimes it’s a pain-less, limited range of function. Pain or dysfunction in one area leads to imbalance elsewhere, physically and emotionally.

The physiotherapist has detailed knowledge and understanding of how the body functions. They will treat the source of the problem, not just the symptoms. Individualized treatment and therapies help provide a long-term solution to the problem. The goal is to prevent re-injury as well as to maintain good health.

Through manual or “hands on” therapy and personalized exercise prescriptions, our therapists will help you restore function, decrease pain and enhance physical performance. And even more, to restore your confidence in what you can do again!

MANUAL THERAPY

This is a hands-on treatment that goes beyond a typical relaxation massage but isn’t as broad in scope as full physiotherapy. While massage therapy mainly focuses on relaxing muscles and easing tension, manual therapy targets specific joints, soft tissues, and movement patterns to help improve mobility, reduce pain, and restore function.

It’s often used when you’re experiencing stiffness, restricted movement, or localized pain. Techniques may include joint mobilization, muscle release, and guided stretching—it can feel more “active” than a relaxation massage but is typically gentler and more focused than a full physiotherapy session.

Manual therapy bridges the gap between relaxation and rehabilitation. It’s ideal for people who need targeted treatment and compliments a complete physio program.

RAPID NeuroFascial Reset
(NFR)

is a hands-on therapy that targets both your muscles and nervous system to quickly reduce pain, release tension, and restore movement. Unlike traditional massage, RAPID works directly with the body’s pain response, helping “reset” the nervous system so your brain no longer perceives the treated area as a threat.

It’s used to treat a wide range of conditions, including headaches, back pain, shoulder pain, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, TMJ, frozen shoulder, bursitis, and more. RAPID can also help with old injuries that never fully healed, clearing lingering inflammation and sensitivity that may have been causing ongoing discomfort.

RAPID involves gentle pressure and guided movement, and while some techniques may feel briefly intense, most people notice improvements in pain and mobility right away.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)

is a gentle, hands-on therapy designed to encourage the natural movement of lymph fluid in your body. The lymphatic system plays a key role in immune health, helping to remove waste, toxins, and excess fluid from your tissues. When it becomes sluggish or blocked, you may experience swelling, puffiness, discomfort, or slower healing.

Using light, rhythmic massage techniques, MLD helps stimulate lymph flow, reduce swelling, improve circulation, and promote relaxation and recovery. It’s commonly recommended for people recovering from surgery or injury, managing lymphedema, easing post-cosmetic surgery swelling, reducing fluid retention, and supporting immune function.

It's calming, non-invasive, and highly effective. By helping your body naturally detoxify and heal, MLD can leave you feeling lighter, less swollen, and more at ease.

is a gentle, non-invasive therapy that uses extremely low-level electrical currents—so small you won’t feel them—to help reduce pain, speed healing, and restore balance in your body.

FSM is used to support recovery from a wide range of conditions, including muscle strains, joint pain, tendon and ligament injuries, nerve pain, chronic conditions like fibromyalgia or arthritis flare-ups, headaches, migraines, and post-surgical healing.

When your body is injured or inflamed, the natural electrical signals in your tissues change. FSM delivers specialized frequencies matched to those tissues—like “tuning a radio”—to reduce inflammation, promote cell repair, and calm the nervous system’s pain response.

Treatments are comfortable, low-risk, and drug-free, making FSM a great option for both acute injuries and chronic pain.

Please note: FSM is not suitable for patients with pacemakers or those who are pregnant.

How should I prepare for a Manual Therapy Session?

Before Your Appointment
For the best results, make sure to hydrate well before and after your session. Wear something comfortable and easy to move in—think gym clothes like leggings, sweatpants, shorts, T-shirts, or tank tops. You’ll stay fully clothed during your appointment so we can work through movement together and adjust the treatment in real time.

A quick note: Please avoid wearing jeans (even dress jeans!). While we can work through most fabrics, the rivets and seams can get in the way of important treatment areas.

After Your Appointment
It’s normal to feel a little workout-sore the next day—that’s your body responding to the treatment. To recover well, stay hydrated, keep moving, and apply heat to any tender spots. Avoid ice and steer clear of anti-inflammatories unless prescribed by your doctor, since they can slow the natural healing process.
